Event description

This ticket places you on the 2026 waitlist for Bush Kinder and Forest School. By registering and paying the waitlist fee, you will be offered a place in our Term 1 2026 programs for your selected day and time. Please note that waitlist fees are non-refundable if you choose to decline your offer. The waitlist helps us organise staffing for the term. If you accept your place, you will be offered the option to pay your term fee via bank transfer, and your waitlist fee will be credited towards that payment. Please note, any term tickets paid for via the Humanitix Platform automatically attract Humanitix Fees which cannot be refunded.

Experience the freedom of outdoor, all-weather, 3-hour or 5.5 hour bush kinder and forest school sessions designed for children aged 3 to 12 years under the care of experience facilitators and overseen by a trauma-informed, inclusive practice teacher and ecologist.

This is a supported drop off program (ages 3+ can be dropped off without a supervising adult) focused on nature connection, play and exploration. Whether you’d like to stay and share the adventure with your child or are ready to leave them in the expert care of our experienced facilitators, we’ve got you covered. Siblings under 3 can come along for free with a supervising adult. If you choose to stay beyond the first 3 weeks to support your child or just be present in the space, we ask that you take on a job around base camp. This could be tending the fire, refilling the water, tidying up the mud kitchen, helping out with supervising tools, managing the art and craft areas, assisting in building forts and tying ropes etc. This helps in building our ethos of community and modelling for children how we can all contribute and look after our space.

Our sessions foster holistic child development through creativity, problem-solving, emotional growth, and self-regulation. Literacy and numeracy concepts are seamlessly woven into play and exploration, inspired by your child’s natural interests.

While predominately guided by the children's interests, sessions occasionally feature experts in construction, yoga, occupational therapy, horticulture, flora, fauna, and more.

Let your young ones thrive in nature while you enjoy the flexibility and peace of mind you deserve.

Bush Kinder and Forest School is open to kinder, primary school, flexi-schooled and home schooled children.

TRIAL SESSIONS are available by booking a casual ticket or a stay and play ticket (1, 2 and 3 hour options). We recommend you attend a program in 2025, or one of our school holiday sessions to see if this is the type of outdoor learning you are looking for.

TERM PAYMENT is our preferred commitment. Research shows that consistent participation in nature-based programs fosters deeper connections, greater developmental benefits, and stronger community bonds. If you have unique needs and can only commit to fortnightly or half term, please get in touch. We also can offer payment plans on request.

SUPPORT NEEDS To attend without a parent/guardian, children need to be independent, including toileting, changing, remembering to eat and drink, and the ability to follow direction from facilitators. If your child requires support at School, Kindergarten or other drop off programs, they may need support at Born Wild Community. We will work with you to establish what is needed to promote inclusion for your child.

MULTI AGE GROUPS Our program targets children aged 3-12, with research consistently showing that younger children thrive by observing and learning from older peers, while older children build leadership and empathy skills. This approach fosters a rich, inclusive setting that supports a wide range of developmental needs. Children are offered guidance according to their stage of development. This ensures younger children receive the support they need to thrive amongst their older peers.

NOT FOR PROFIT Born Wild Community is a not for profit incorporation, meaning all payments we receive are put back into improving our programs. We are required to meet minimum numbers and self finance our programs. In the event a program does not meet minimum numbers, transfer to alternate days, or a full refund of the registration fee will be offered.

If you are NOT SURE if Born Wild Community is right for your young person, please contact us and we can provide additional information and options info@bornwildcommunity.org.au Please note the program does not have administration each day.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds if you cannot attend, however get in touch and we can offer a catch up session to be used within the term or the subsequent 5 weeks, at any of our Born Wild Community sessions. Please email first so we can manage our bookings.
