2026 Year 9 MYP Community Projects Expo

We invite all Year 9 students, their families, and friends to join us at an Expo in celebration of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Community Projects for 2026. 

The Community Project is an integral part of our Year 9 curriculum. It is a student-led initiative through which students undertake a sustained, self-directed inquiry into a need they've identified in their local or global community, then take meaningful service action to address it.

Working individually or in small groups, students move through a structured cycle of investigation, planning, action and reflection.

Along the way, they build powerful skills — including project management, collaboration, research and critical reflection — while deepening their understanding of their rights and responsibilities as members of a community.

Beyond the practical outcomes, the Community Project asks students to consider why their chosen issue matters, exploring concepts such as fairness, access, and shared responsibility for the wellbeing of others.

It's a genuine opportunity for our students to move from awareness to action, and to take real pride in the positive change they help create.

We are incredibly proud of the work and innovative projects on display at the Expo, and during the event, students will be asked to articulate what they have learned from their six-month journey.

Light refreshments will be served.

We look forward to celebrating their achievements with you at the Expo.

Please note: Year 9 students do not require a ticket.

Time: Please arrive at 6:45pm for a 7:00 PM start. Finishes at 8:00PM.
