Off the Cuff: Impromptu Speaking Skills - ONE DAY COURSE (30 Apr)
Event description
Thinking on your feet
Some of the best public speaking opportunities come when we least expect them.
While some public speaking relies on preparation and rehearsal, Impromptu Speaking is about making the most of unplanned opportunities and being able to think on your feet.
Surprisingly, there are many things we can do to prepare for the unexpected, and this course is focussed on building skills, confidence and readiness to grab opportunities, whenever they arise.
The course introduces tools and techniques for speaking off the cuff, and even being glad you did! Participants will try a range of impromptu speaking exercises in a supportive environment and receive personalised feedback and coaching.
Topics include:
Speak up in meetings and public events
Respond to an unexpected speaking opportunity
Structure an impromptu speech
Develop confidence on the run
Perfect punchy micro-speeches
Develop spontaneous style
Predict and answer unexpected questions
Participate in debates, interviews and forums
Deal with interruptions and audience feedback
This course includes:
Engaging, up-to-date materials.
Take-home resource package.
All-day catering and beverages - with dietary needs catered for.
