Ahurei 2026 – Ngāti Pūkenga Whānau Hui

Our Ahurei is back for 2026! Join us in Maketū for a weekend of whakawhanaungatanga, wānanga, and celebration with whānau from across the motu.

Together, we’ll enjoy kai, kōrero, kapa haka, waiata, and a full weekend programme designed for all ages. Whether you’re a regular or reconnecting after time away, this is our time to come together, strengthen our bonds, and create new memories.

🌿 Something for Everyone

• Rangatahi programme: interactive, hands-on activities and kōrero to inspire and empower our younger generation

• Pakeke sessions: relaxed spaces, wānanga, and opportunities to engage in te ao Māori in ways that fill the wairua

• A detailed programme will be posted up late August.

• T-shirts must be collected at the event

🛏️ Accommodation & Transport Add-ons

Let us take care of logistics – add transport(from Manaia & Whangarei) and accommodation when you register:

• Adult (18+): $15

• Child (under 18): $5

• Fully refundable until 4pm, Tuesday 15th September 2026 (minus processing fee)

Please note that the marae has a capacity of 80 and priority will be given to those travelling from out of the area. Campers are allowed.

👶 Under 3s (Pēpi)

Pēpi are welcome! Please register them for catering purposes.

Even if you’re just coming as a day visitor, please register – it helps us make sure there’s enough kai, space, and resources for everyone.
