The Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS) will be launching our 2027-28 State Budget Submission on Friday 18 September 2026.

Each year, we provide the Western Australian Government with a State Budget Submission which outlines the sector's priorities for expenditure in the State Budget. It reflects our state and sector-wide consultations, forming a key part of our policy and advocacy work and influencing funding decisions for community service organisations across Western Australia.

Join us for the launch of the 2027-28 WACOSS State Budget Submission and hear the priority budget spending proposals, recommendations for systemic reforms and the changes needed to ensure a sustainable community services sector.

Registrations open: 1:30pm

Commences: 2:00pm

Afternoon tea: 3:00pm

Concludes: 3:30pm

Please note the change of venue this year. The event will be held at City West Lotteries House Conference Room, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth WA 6005.

This is an in-person event. An online streaming option is available for regional and remote attendees.

The Western Australian Council of Social Service has a vision for an inclusive, just and equitable society. As the peak body for the Western Australian community service sector, we believe that communities flourish where people are given the opportunity to contribute and create. To create equitable and empowered communities, WACOSS must be a strong Peak body voice that works with its members to advocate with and on behalf of those who are the furthest from levers of power and influence, to amplify their concerns, their voices, and seek justice, to create a society that genuinely works for the benefit of all. To change the systems, behaviours and attitudes that perpetuates entrenched poverty, inequity and exclusion WACOSS challenges and develops alternative solutions to systematic structures, community priorities and galvanises community support. We also partner with the national Council of Social Service network, as one of nine peak councils of the community services sector across Australia to ensure that there is a Western Australian perspective on the national stage. WACOSS is bold in its ambition, challenging belief structures and cultural norms, and building community empathy. It is time for us as a community to come together and create a fair and just society. We invite all Western Australians to join with us and our 300 members to drive change and overcome entrenched poverty, inequity and exclusion.
