We are excited to announce that KickstART 2027, presented by Art Education Victoria in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria, will be hosted on the 20th February, 2027.

In 2027, we will be celebrating over 10 years of KickstART. It is thanks to your continued support that we’ve reached this special milestone. Join us at the National Gallery of Victoria for an inspiring and educational day designed to support VCE Art: Creative Practice and VCE Art: Making and Exhibiting educators and students.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Peer-to-peer sessions featuring high-achieving students sharing a presentation about their final artworks, folios, and creative processes

• In-depth discussions and analysis from the artists on their final artworks and creative journey

• Access to top-scoring exemplars and resources, to inspire creativity and guide students on how to produce a high-quality folio and perform well in each course

• A dedicated Educator Networking Session for professional development

NOMINATE YOUR STUDENT

We are seeking students from each subject area (VCE Art: Creative Practice and VCE Art: Making and Exhibiting) to present at KickstART at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). This is an incredible opportunity for recent VCE graduates and emerging artists to present alongside ArtEdVic and the NGV.

Student presenters will share excerpts from their folio, tell the story behind their work, and offer advice, tips and personal insights from their VCE journey.

If you are a teacher, please encourage your students to apply. You are also welcome to apply on their behalf. We will share more information in our newsletters over the coming weeks.

10+ YEARS OF KICKSTART

On 27 February 2016, Art Education Victoria presented the inaugural edition of KickstART. Since then, we have welcomed over 2,000 attendees and celebrated the artworks and artistic journeys of more than 60 students from over 40 schools across Victoria.

It is at events like KickstART that teachers, students, artists and institutions come together to celebrate what it means to be part of an arts community. Thank you to each and every one of you who has supported KickstART over the past 10+ years, as an attendee, presenter, facilitator, volunteer, educator or student. As we mark this milestone, we look forward to continuing our commitment to art education and supporting Victoria’s emerging artists.
