One of the most important steps in preparing for employment is learning how to improve and maintain our wellbeing and resilience. This course will help you to understand your emotions and needs, and how these influence your interactions with others, and the daily self-care tools you can use to boost your confidence and feel good for work.

The sessions will be held on 27 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June, 24 June.
Each Friday class will run from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

The course topics include:   

  • Developing a growth mind set 
  • Identifying strengths and skills 
  • Building confidence 
  • Overcoming barriers 
  • Matching strengths and skills to job roles 
  • Tools for a positive mindset 
  • Developing resilience 
  • Learning with and from others 
  • Building a resume that highlights your skills and attributes 
  • The grit to participate in interviews 
  • Setting goals 

Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way. We treat you as an individual, we want you to feel confident and empowered, and ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment. 

We will assess your reading and numeracy skills before you start to identify any supports you may need, and to be sure that this is the right course for you.
