Launching your own small business can create new opportunities and alternative income streams for yourself. This practical, step-by-step course will guide you on how to launch and grow your small business ideas or take a step back and give your existing business a revamp.

This course includes engaging guest speakers, practical information and classroom theory.

The sessions will be held on 2 June, 9 June, 16 June, 23 June.
Each Thursday class will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Our Community Learning facilitators have industry experience and knowledge to help you safely and successfully take the next step, whatever your current work-life needs, background, age or focus.

The course topics include:

  • First steps for setting up your business
  • Using digital platforms for small business
  • Building support networks for your business
  • Business planning and using the ‘Business Model Canvas’
  • Promoting your business
  • Market research and exploring your target market 
  • Legal and regulatory requirements 
  • Planning your financial commitments

Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way.
We treat you as an individual, we want you to feel confident and empowered, and ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment.

You will be required to complete a basic assessment of your reading and numeracy skills before you start. This will help the team identify any supports you may need, and ensure that this is the right course for you.
