Understanding and developing your efficiency in Microsoft Office is a highly valued skillset for most workplaces. If you would like to explore all the ins and outs of Microsoft Office and the diverse practical application of tools available, then this course is for you! Our experienced tutor will take you step by step through the basics of applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and explore some of the more specific tips and tricks that can give you a professional edge.
This course includes engaging practical information and classroom theory with resources available to take home for additional skills development. Our Community Learning facilitators have industry experience and knowledge to help you safely and successfully take the next step, whatever your current work-life needs, background, age or focus.
To access this course for free you must be a South Australian resident (or hold a valid work or study visa), aged 18 years or older and preparing for work or study, and not enrolled in school or a Flexible Learning Options program.
The 6 sessions will be held on 10-Feb, 17-Feb, 24-Feb, 3-Mar, 10-Mar, & 17-Mar.
Each Friday class will run from 10:00am to 1:30pm
The course topics include:
- Text and paragraph formatting
- Inserting and creating tables in Word
- Adding headers and footers to your document
- Setting up a simple spreadsheet
- Adding simple formulas for an intuitive document
- Creating an engaging slide show presentation
- Lots more short cuts and handy hints!
Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way. We treat you as an individual. We will help you to feel confident and empowered, and ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment.
You will be required to complete a basic assessment of your reading and numeracy skills before you start. This will help the team identify any supports you may need and ensure that this is the right course for you.
