Join the Mayor and Elder Uncle Andrew Gardiner as we pause for a moment of reflection and mourning on January 26. This is our time to unite, to journey together in solidarity towards a path of healing and reconciliation.
We invite to you to listen and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices on a day that symbolises the enduring spirit and resilience of First Nations communities across the country.
This event will include a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elder Uncle Andrew Gardiner,Ā Ā Smoking Ceremony byWurundjeri man Thane GarveyĀ and a reflectiveĀ activity for community members.
Light refreshments will be provided at 9am.

This event is proudly presented by Merri-bek City Council on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation. Merri-bek pays our respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledges that sovereignty was never ceded.
