About the Course
The Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be experiencing:
A developing mental health problem, or
A mental health crisis
Participants learn:
The signs and symptoms of common mental health problems
How to recognise and respond to emerging or worsening concerns
How to use a practical, evidence‑based action plan
How to encourage help‑seeking and provide information
What professional supports and treatment options are available
Course Format
Component 1 - Self‑paced eLearning: 5-7 hours (must be completed prior to component 2)
Component 2 - Live online sessions: Two × 2.5‑hour (same day) video‑conferencing workshops

Accreditation
You can complete the short assessment at the end of a course to become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider).
