2D Mixed Media Art - Kids Workshop
Event description
Kick off 2025 with creativity and sustainability at Austin Creative Reuse! If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to be more eco-friendly, why not share that goal with your kids? Drop them off for a fun, hands-on art workshop where they'll learn how to transform repurposed materials into beautiful mixed-media art projects.
Led by our experienced instructor, Barb, children will experiment with different techniques like collage, drawing, and painting. They’ll also learn how reusing materials can spark creativity and help reduce waste.
This event is perfect for kids who are ready to start the year with a creative bang while embracing the eco-conscious values that are shaping 2025. At the end of the morning, they’ll leave with a collection of one-of-a-kind art pieces they can be proud of—and you can feel good knowing they’ve spent the day learning how to be part of the solution!

About the Instructor
Barbara Paris’s work can be found in many public and private art collections throughout North and South America.
Currently based in Austin, Texas, she was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. Barbara received her B.A. in Art Education and B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts.
Barbara describes her work as intention. That is, she puts the paint where it belongs and the paint goes on to become what it is. She works with strong color and texture, adding elements such as glass and paper to the canvas, the purpose of which is to surround herself with things that make her feel good, and to share that feeling with others.
