This structured event is not about scrolling and swiping and making snap decisions based solely on physical appearance. This event is about being open enough to see each other's humanity.

You might meet your new boo! Or you might not. You might meet your new bestie or protest buddy. Or you might just leave feeling more connected to your community and more connected to yourself.

Jenna Bean Veatch is a multi-disciplinary queer performing artist, teacher, and facilitator who has been accused of creating "pure, unadulterated, heart-stopping whimsy."  She has made dances, theater shows, music, stop-action animated music videos, delightful objects, connections, community gatherings, and one gorgeous little human.

Cash/credit concessions available at most events (non-alcoholic refreshments only)

Note: Your email will be shared with Jenna the event curator for followup purposes only and will not be sold. You may also be added to the Abbey Arts email list which has an easy single click opt-out option.

Some things to know:

• Lights stay up during the event so that we can read things like each other's name tags!

• We've got fairly sturdy chairs with no arm rests. 

• It can get pretty loud with everyone talking at the same time during our small group conversations. Good to know if you're sound sensitive!

• Ballard Homestead is partially ADA accessible. Please email boxoffice@fremontabbey.org with questions and for accommodations. ballardhomestead.org/about

• Service animals as defined by the ADA are allowed. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

• Please limit photos during the show so as to not distract other attendees from the experience.

• Please enter quietly if the show has already begun.

• Please leave quietly, it's a very quiet neighborhood.

• Quiet Picnics Welcome. ie. please no crunchy packaging or loud chips, smelly foods, etc. We sometimes have a few tables out, or you can use the side yard if weather is nice.

• Light snacks & non-alcoholic beverages may be available for purchase, but no other food or bar service at Ballard Homestead shows.

• We have a mix of padded chairs, benches, and a little standing room in back for big shows.

• We are an all ages venue. Kids 10 & under are free at Abbey Arts concerts & arts events unless noted. Please request by emailing boxoffice@fremontabbey.org

• Entering the venue indicates agreement to adhere to the Abbey Respect Policy. All are welcome. fremontabbey.org/respect

• Purchasing a ticket with us indicates sharing your email and we may send you occasional new show listings or other newsletter fun from Abbey Arts. You can opt out easily anytime. For events produced in collaboration with third-party curators or co-promoters, we may share attendee email addresses with those specific partners on events they are curating.
