A 3-day residential retreat with Henry Shukman near Sydney

For the first time ever, Henry Shukman will be embarking on a teaching tour across Australia. Known for his warm, restful guidance and deep insight into awakening and Zen practice, Henry will be offering retreats, workshops, and public talks designed to support both beginners and experienced meditators. This special tour is an opportunity to explore meditation in a practical, welcoming way — giving you accessible tools for living with more presence, clarity, and compassion. This Sydney retreat will be the only residential retreat Henry will lead on the tour.

What to expect on a residential retreat?

Over the three days and three nights, Henry will guide you through an immersive exploration of both non-dual awareness and heart-opening mindfulness, weaving together ancient wisdom and modern insight in his signature style.

You’ll also have plenty of time to meet and connect with others walking the same path, to share practice notes and stories, and form new connections. What sets this retreat apart is its spaciousness and intimacy. Extended Q&A sessions offer time for deeper questions and discussion — ones that naturally arise as we settle into shared practice.

While there will be periods of silent sitting, this retreat will also welcome discussion, reflection, and connection. Together, we’ll sit, share, and discover. You’ll have time to speak with others on the path, to form meaningful bonds, and to experience meditation not as an isolated practice, but as a living, breathing way of being.

Set in the beautiful Billabong Retreat Center

About Henry Shukman

Henry is an authorized Zen Master in the Sanbo Zen lineage, the co-founder of The Way meditation app, and the Spiritual Director Emeritus of Mountain Cloud Zen Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to teaching meditation, Henry is an award-winning author and poet. His struggles as a youth, combined with a spontaneous awakening experience at 19, paved the way for Henry to develop a well-rounded approach to healing and awakening through meditation.
