Make Your Own Wooden Vessel 3 Day Workshop with Master Carver Hape Kiddle

Spend 3 days (Sat-Mon) at this scenic location with world renowned Master Carver Hape Kiddle (see his stunning work at hapekiddle.com), who will travel to the
the area to share his fine skills at this exclusive workshop he is presenting for the very first time. 

Participants will carve two small vessels, one guided and the other self designed, with assistance as needed.

The carved vessel forms with the rope work, with the hitch the main focus.

There will be a big focus on the roping technique whilst exploring Shou Sugi Ban (Japanese Wood Burning), with milk paint and natural wax added for optimum lustre.

Wood that we will work with include Whitebeech, Mahogany and Huon pine.

Sunday night will have an additional session of ‘Just Sharpening’.

Hape has never taught or shared this technique before and will not be featuring it in his private carving classes, making this an extra special experience exclusive to our group.
