    Event description

Please join us for the USyd School of Law and UTS Law Faculty joint 3 Minute Thesis heats!

The idea for the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition came about at a time when the state of Queensland was suffering severe drought. To conserve water, residents were encouraged to time their showers, and many people had a three-minute egg timer fixed to the wall in their bathroom. The then Dean of the UQ Graduate School, Emeritus Professor Alan Lawson, put two and two together and the idea for the 3MT competition was born.

Presenters are given no more than 3 minutes to explain thier research to a non-specialist audience. The heats provide a fantastic opportunity for our HDRs to develop  research communication skills and to celebrate their varied, important and fascinating work. Winners from the Faculty heats will go on to represent the UTS Law Faculty/USyd Law School at respective unviersity finals.

When: Tuesday 23 May, 10.30am - 12.30pm (join us for morning tea from 9.45am)
Where: UTS Law Faculty Boardroom, UTS Central, Level 16, room 213 (CB02.16.213).

Participants and audience members can also attend via zoom. Links will be emailed out closer to the date.

Please register via Humanitix by Friday 19 May, for catering purposes.
