(For adults)

Learn how to make a thriving veggie garden and produce delicious food at home!

Do you want to start a veggie garden but have no idea where to start? Well, this is the workshop for you!

There are some basic guidelines that gardeners must follow to grow vegetables. Issues such as soil, light, water and food requirements of vegetables need to be addressed to guarantee success. Participants will learn how easy it is to get started growing their own vegetables and creating food security, starting small in containers and advancing as confidence builds.

During the workshop you’ll learn:

  • Soil health and soil preparation
  • What to grow and when
  • Choosing seeds or seedlings
  • Information about fertiliser and dealing with pests.

After this session you will have the confidence and the know-how to build a thriving veggie garden at home.

Bookings are essential for this free event. Light refreshments will be available. You are welcome to bring your own keep-cup for tea/coffee or water.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.

Please remember to cancel your booking via Humanitix or by contacting the library if you are unable to attend on the day. The place/s can then be released for someone else to enjoy.
