    1. Opening the Passage for the Baby - at the Beginning, Middle & End of Birth with Jenny Blyth & Claire Eccleston (9:00am-11:00am)

Saturday 9th November 2024 9am - 11am We all like to see a baby deeply engaged before labour, and then navigate through the pelvis with easy rotation and descent. But a baby in their birth can be caught or held up at the pelvic brim and having trouble coming in. Or they could be caught in descent through the pelvis, either at mid-pelvis or at the outlet. Sometimes space is found through the birth giver’s instinctive response, but sometimes it needs an extra helping hand. In this hands-on workshop we will explore sound logic, effective methods and signs of when to act and assist the baby’s passage when it is required. We believe that sharing this essential knowledge connects the community and brings greater autonomy to everyone involved in the birth. This workshop is open to everyone – parents, midwives, doulas, support people & bodyworkers. Morning tea provided.
