Whoa, did you say 3 Fonteinen on tap on the Ekka public holiday? Yeah baby, we sure did. Six kegs of lambic goodness from the gods of lambic. Check out this lineup:

OUDE LAMBIC

3 Fonteinen Oude Lambik is the result of a specific brewing process with a high proportion of unmalted wheat, spontaneous fermentation in an open coolship, and slow and complex fermentation and maturation in oak barrels of different sizes and shapes. This beer is completely flat as the carbonation evaporates through the wooden staves. 5.0%

OUDE KRIEK

Macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on young lambic for at least 4 months. 1kg of fruit per litre of lambic. Then blended again with more young lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 35% fruit, packaged immediately after second blending. 6.0%

RABARBER LAMBIC

This Rabarber is the result of a six-month barrel maceration of local rhubarb, of which a small part was sourced with a Halle resident but most comes from De Groentelaar, one of our cereal farmers (and also specialized in organic vegetables, fruits, … and rhubarb). We used two different lambikken from two different barrels, equally split between a young lambik for macerating and a two-year old lambik for blending. The final fruit intensity is 328 grams of rhubarb per litre of Rabarber. 5.0%

NOCTURNE

Atypical for 3F, it is their spontaneous interpretation of an Oud Bruin. Only darker malts used, aged for years on barrels. 7.3%

HONING LAMBIC

This lambik was taken straight from foeder n°52, a 6,000 litre barrel, originating from the Barolo region. This barrel held two lambik brews from 2019. During the cooldown, we infused the lambik wort with honey. 8.1%

PRUIMEN LAMBIC

For this Oude Pruimenlambik, we macerated Conducta and Belle De Louvain plums on young lambik for more than five months. The plums originate from a small old orchard in Flemish Brabant, some 30 kilometres from our brewhouse. All cereals are sourced in Pajottenland. The lambikken originate from two different barrels and four different brews. The final fruit intensity is 417 grams of plums per litre of Oude Pruimenlambik. 6.4%
