3Rs: Family Violence Training (In-Person)
Event description
3Rs of Family Violence: LGBTIQA+ Inclusive Training
Recognise. Respond. Refer.
Join us for a 3-hour interactive training based on FVREE’s evidence-based 3Rs Framework—Recognise, Respond, Refer—designed to explore family violence in all its forms.
This special session is tailored for LGBTIQA+ people and allies, recognising that family violence can look different in our communities. Things like gender identity, sexuality, and HIV status can affect how violence is experienced—and how we support each other.
Who is this training for?
This session is not just for healthcare workers or professionals—it's designed for everyday people in the community. Whether you're a friend, partner, neighbour, chosen family, or ally, you can play a powerful role in preventing and responding to family violence. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.
You’ll learn how to:
- Recognise the signs of family violence within LGBTIQA+ communities
- Respond safely and confidently if someone shares their experience with you
- Refer them to the right support services
- You’ll also gain insight into the gendered nature of family violence, and learn how to challenge the social attitudes and inequalities that drive it.
Grounded in evidence and shaped by FVREE’s frontline work with victim-survivors, this training equips you with the practical tools to support those around you and help create safer communities.
Let’s build a world where our communities are safe and supported. Anyone can sign up. Everyone can make a difference.
