An Interactive Evening Suitable for Introverts @ FREMONT ABBEY
Event description
Inspired by the collaboration of poetry and music in singer-songwriter Allison Preisinger’s latest musical project, this evening is all about curiosity, connection, and creativity. Enjoy music, poetry (including typewriter poetry – get your own poem!), and a creative workshop.
The evening is an open invitation to anyone who would like to immerse themselves in a variety of creative mediums either through observation or interaction. As the title suggests, there will be no pressure to interact, simply come and observe or create as you please. Attendees will be guided through a creative workshop. All materials will be provided and your project can be worked on throughout the evening of music and poetry. Additional creative materials will be available to write, draw, color, and create throughout the night while you enjoy music from locals including singer-songwriter Allison Preisinger, Anja Claire, and poetry by Shane Knode.
Our creative workshop will be “Softcut” Block Printing: Build-A-Beast led by artist, Brian Lane. The Build-A-Beast project allows you to create and print an all new animal. With approximately 40 pre-carved animals to choose from, participants can mix and match animal body parts to create an all-new beast. Additionally, participants may be able to carve an animal block and contribute to our “field guide to real and imaginary animals of the northwest”. Participants will be able to take home the prints that they make.
