4 Week Course: Handbuilding with Clay 101
Event description
In this 4 week intro course participants will learn the basics of coil, slab, and slump mold techniques to construct with clay. Beginner friendly, no prior clay experience required!
DATE & TIME: Tuesdays starting 4.16.24 to 5.7.24 // 6:30 - 9pm
WEEK 1: Cup or mug using coil building method. Learn how to roll out ropes of clay which are layered to create a drinking vessel.
WEEK 2: Tray or plate using slump molds. Learn how to make a slab and form it using a tray or plate to replicate the shape.
WEEK 3: Free form. Use a combination of coil and slab building to create a vessel of your choice. Final week of building.
WEEK 4: Complete projects by decorating using underglaze. Finished pieces will be fired and ready for pick up the following week.
PRICE: $150 includes materials, class tools, firing & clear glazing pieces
