44FU Turns One - Birthday Fundraiser

44 Flats United (44FU) is turning one!

Come celebrate our first birthday and help us raise much needed fighting funds for the year ahead 🔥
It has been a mammoth year and despite the ongoing 💩 from Homes Victoria/the Housing Minister, there have been small victories and powerful moments of resistance and collaboration in between ❤️‍🔥

Join us and our favourite local DJs, Bakri, Bass Shaman, Champagne Mama, Luwani, Poppy Dong, Vee and Visala, who will take us on a sonic journey through bass as thick and relentless as the reinforced concrete and steel walls of the flats. Headlining the night will be our very special guest, Nam, who is also a proud former resident of the Richmond flats 🙏🏾✨ Final set times will be released closer to date. 

All funds raised on the night will go towards residents' continued fight against oppressive State Government policies/plans for our forced displacement and ultimately, the social cleansing of the inner city suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne).

Who is 44FU?

44FU is a group of residents, former residents and supporters of public housing collectively organising against the State Government's decision to demolish our homes across the 44 high-rise commission flats and a growing number of walk-ups in this city. We acknowledge that we live, organise and host this event on the unceded, stolen lands of the Wurundjeri, Woi-wurrung, and Boonwurrung peoples of the mighty Eastern Kulin Nations. Our struggle for housing justice and against forced displacement is inextricably tied to First Peoples’ fight for Sovereignty and justice. We recognise their Sovereign right to this land and waters and the critical role this plays in achieving full self-determination over all of their political, social and economic affairs.

On3 Studio is accessible by two flights of stairs.

Toilets are gender-neutral.

Masks and pre-event Rapid Antigen Tests are strongly encouraged for this event. Spares will be available on the night. We will also have a few air purifiers in the space.
