Dubbo School of Distance Education is generously hosting and sharing their practice at the 4C Network Days on 21 and 22 June 2021. After a whole year without any 4C Network days, this year we will celebrate, challenge and capture the work of the Network’s schools through the metaphor of travel. So, grab your visas, vaccinations and valises and come on a travel experience to explore how to map and measure 4C school transformation.

DAY 1 - Monday 21 June

8:30am: Registration for workshops, tea and coffee.

9:00am - 10:30am: Session 1 | Travelling with Transformation

What are the elements of an effective story and an effective journey? What is the difference between a story and a journey? This workshop will explore how to lead transformation and how story and journey are critical in our understanding and actioning of transformation in schools.

10:30am: Morning Tea

11:00am - 1:00pm: Session 2 | Travel Experiences

In the past this session as been ‘The Bazaar’, this year it is the ‘Travel Experience’. Instead of 5 mins, each school will have 10 mins to present a ‘travel experience’ of the innovations they have introduced in their schools. These innovations may involve learning, pedagogy, curriculum, professional learning and/or leadership.

2:00pm - 4:00pm: Session 3 | How do you know you are transforming?

This will run as two concurrent side trips. One workshop will focus on classroom practice and assessment, measurement and evaluation of learning and the 4Cs. The other workshop will focus on leadership practice and assessment, measurement and evaluation of school transformation.

DAY 2 Tuesday 22 June

9:00am - 11:00am: Session 4 | Travelling in Transformation

In this session there is a choice of a side trip workshop based on Miranda and Michael’s new book.

Leadership: Establishing a Principal’s Network
Values: How are the 4Cs all connected and why do they inform our work practices?
Pedagogy: How is the Wonder Web linked to the Pedagogy Parachute?
Teacher Education: Inquiry into the Learning Disposition Wheel assessment rubrics.
Curriculum: What is it and what are the possibilities in your schools?
Learning: Exploring motivation through Self-Determination Theory.

11:00am: Morning Tea

11:30am - 1:00pm: Session 5 | Postcards on Transformation

This workshop will allow all travellers to share their learnings and their where to next in small groups, mapping the connections, evidence and findings from their school transformations.

Additional info:

It would be ideal to send between 2 - 6 people from each school, but of course solo travellers are welcome.
The Network Days can accept up to 80 registrations at Dubbo.
The learning is designed for leaders and teachers in schools already on the journey.
The learning at the 4C Network Days takes schools into new and uncharted waters.
Morning tea and lunch included.
