Based on Robert Harris’ 2016 best seller, CONCLAVE commences with the death of a pope and finds its intrigue amid the gathering of 118 cardinals, who come to the Vatican to elect a new leader from their number. Cardinal Lomeli (Fiennes) is entrusted with overseeing the proceedings. But, as the political machinations inside the Vatican intensify, scheming abounds while liberals vie fiercely with conservatives, and Lomeli comes to realise the deceased pope had kept a secret from them all, a secret that could rock everything. He must uncover and understand the truth before a new pope has been chosen.
