About Us · MUCTG (Melbourne University Chinese Theatre Group)

1993年3月23日，中华剧社在墨尔本大学正式成立，距今已有32年的历史，是目前墨尔本大学规模最大、历史最悠久的中文戏剧社团，我们以“发展华语话剧，弘扬中华文化”为宗旨。32年来，几代社员薪火相传，从对戏剧的热爱出发，为保留、创新和传播中文戏剧艺术不断努力。每学期尽最⼤努⼒为观众呈现⾼质量演出。

📅 截至2025年，中华剧社已经为观众呈现超过五十部戏剧，并获得高度认可。

Founded on March 23, 1993, the Melbourne University Chinese Theatre Group (MUCTG) is the largest and oldest Chinese drama society at the University of Melbourne, with a 32-year legacy. We are dedicated to promoting Chinese theatre and culture. For over three decades, generations of passionate members have worked tirelessly to preserve, innovate, and share the art of Chinese drama. Each semester, we strive to deliver high-quality performances for our audience.

MUCTG's 2025 Semester 1’s Play - Green Snake 🐍

2025年上半年，中华剧社倾情呈现年度新剧——《青蛇》。原剧为中国国家话剧院殿堂级IP作品，讲述了青蛇与白蛇共同修炼500年倘佯人间为情所惑的故事。我们将以全新视角重新诠释“人妖之间”的情感纠葛，用视觉、音乐与情绪打造沉浸式观演体验。

In 2025 Semester 1, MUCTG proudly presents its major production of the year — Green Snake.
Originally produced by the National Theatre of China, the story follows Green Snake and White Snake, two spirits who have cultivated for 500 years and descend into the human world, ensnared by love and desire.
We will retell this classic from a fresh perspective, exploring the tangled emotions between beings and humans. Prepare for a deeply immersive experience through visuals, music, and emotion.
