Intrapreneurship is an attitude and mindset that is valued and encouraged by many organisations today, particularly those who are tasked with solving complex and wicked internal and societal problems. If you like to learn new things at work, are always looking for creative solutions to problems, or are continually inspired by social innovations, programs and enterprise, then it is very likely that you are a natural Intrapreneur.

But what is the business case for supporting and resourcing a more Intrapreneurial culture and mindset? Is it a good investment to give employees the freedom and financial support to create new products, services and systems? You might be surprised with what the research has to say!

In this months Tea and Buns, Dr. Irena Yashin-Shaw who is founder of The Global Intrapreneurs Institute and a lecturer in Corporate Entrepreneurship and Change at Griffith University will share some of her insights about what it means to be more INTRAPRENEURIAL and how it can harness the vast reservoir of untapped talent within workplaces.

Dr. Irena Yashin-Shaw is an educator, academic, author, speaker and entrepreneur who has dedicated her working life to the liberation of human potential. She has a PhD in creative problem-solving and a Masters in Adult Education. This means that she brings a combination of deep, academic knowledge, real-world entrepreneurial experience and skilled education practice to her work - which is to harness the vast reservoir of untapped talent within workplaces. Her mission is to empower people to use their creativity and intrapreneurial spirit to solve complex problems which create value in their organisations and beyond.

With numerous publications to her name, her most recent books are INTRAPRENEUR: How leaders ignite innovation, break bureaucracy and catalyse change and Leading in the Innovation Age: Unleash knowledge, talent and experience to create an innovative workplace. They both draw on her vast experience of working with people in many different environments who are tasked with leading change and innovation in our current disrupted times.

WHAT IS TEA AND BUNS?

Tea & Buns aims to create an opportunity for those working in nonprofit and social innovation to learn from each other, discuss the latest research and how we might apply research to our work. The webinar is online, free and gives you access to a vibrant network of like-minded people, including researchers at QUT. Each month we will tackle topical leadership questions.
