5 week Drum & Rhythm course for emotional connection and well being 🌈🧘🏻♂️💕
This course is suitable for beginners or those who have never picked up a drum before. Many of the activities we will be doing will be based on the Rhythm2Recovery model, which delivers therapeutic programs and professional development, that utilise fun and engaging rhythmic musical activities to support social and emotional connection and development. Based on the latest neuro-science🧬this approach has been shown to support increased emotional 🤯 regulation, improved social connection and reduced levels of anxiety 🧘🏻♂️ and other elements of psychological distress. I will also be using my skills and experience that I developed in previous drum training.
Through the 5 weeks we will be learning how do foundational rhythms, games and use rhythmic techniques to give ourselves positive messages, release tension, get in touch with our feelings and inspire our creativity. The sessions will include the following:
* The Rhythm2Recovery Model
* An introduction to the drum in healing
* Basic Drum Technique
* Bass, Tone, and Flam exercises
* An introduction to basic rhythms
* Call and response games
* Rumbles for connection and fun
* Examining values and learning from each other
* Examining healthy & unhealthy patterns in ourselves
* Trust exercises
* Examining connection through rhythm
* Examining boundaries
* Rhythmic exercises for: rebuilding trust
* Rhythmic exercises for focus & attention
* Rhythmic exercises for healthy relationships
* Rhythmic mindfulness for anxiety reduction
* Rhythm exercises that explore communication
* Rhythm exercises that focus on strengths (Positive Psychology)
* Rhythm exercises that support the cathartic release of pent up feelings
* Rhythmic exercises that moderate emotional disregulation
* Rhythmic exercises for grounding
* and much more!
