50 Years of Animal Liberation Dinner

50 years of speaking up for animals. 50 years of challenging injustice. 50 years of Animal Liberation.

In 1976, Animal Liberation began challenging the exploitation of animals at a time when their suffering was widely ignored and accepted. To commemorate 50 years of being the first animal rights organisation in Australia - and arguably the world - speaking out for the rights of all species, we are holding a 50th Anniversary dinner at Little Turtle restaurant in Enmore on Sunday 1 November, which also happens to be World Vegan Day.

For five decades, Animal Liberation has challenged powerful industries, exposed cruelty behind closed doors, and given a voice to animals whose suffering would otherwise remain unseen. Animal Liberation was the organisation that went “where angels fear to tread”, bringing the plight of factory farmed animals, live export, animal experimentation and animals used for “entertainment” in rodeos and circuses to the public’s awareness for the first time.

None of this important work has happened alone. For 50 years, compassionate people like you have stood alongside us - challenging injustice, demanding meaningful change, and refusing to accept cruelty in any form.

You’re invited to our 50th Anniversary Dinner

On Sunday 1 November - World Vegan Day - we’re bringing our community together for a special anniversary celebration at Little Turtle restaurant in Enmore, Sydney.

Join us for a delicious vegan meal, great company and an evening of celebrating the people and progress that have shaped Animal Liberation.

We’ll also look back on our history of fighting for animal rights with a special presentation reflecting on what we’ve achieved together over the past 50 years.

A very special vegan meal

Little Turtle will be serving a delicious meal including: 

ENTREE

• Puff sticks

• Red curry arancini 

• Thai crepe dumplings

MAINS

• Salad of mixed mushrooms

• Pad See Eew

• Spicy ginger + garlic stir fry (with tofu/tempeh) 

• Grilled caramelised eggplant in panang curry

• Jasmine rice

DESSERT

• Fruit platter or Thai custard bread (Pandan/Thai milk tea)
