50 years of Social Work at UC
Celebrating our people, our history and our shared contribution
Kia ora,
This year marks a very special milestone as the Social Work Education Programme at the University of Canterbury celebrates 50 years of contribution to the social work community in Ōtautahi Christchurch, across Aotearoa New Zealand, and internationally.
We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement and reconnecting with the many people who have been part of our journey over the past five decades. Whether you are an alumni, current or former staff member, student, field educator, or friend of the programme, we would be delighted to have you with us.
Together, we will reflect on our shared history, honour the people and partnerships that have shaped the programme, celebrate our achievements, and look ahead to the future of social work education and practice.
Most importantly, this will be an opportunity to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the vibrant community that has grown around the programme over the last 50 years. We are truly looking forward to seeing you all and marking this special occasion together.
Ngā mihi nui,
