Event description

Imagining and Re-imaging Albury-Wodonga 1973-2023

Fifty years after Gough Whitlam launched the Albury-Wodonga Growth Centre project, it is appropriate to look again at how the project was imagined.

Join us for a discussion at Albury LibraryMuseum led by John Alker-Jones, formerly Principal Planner with the Albury-Wodonga Development Corporation, and Bruce Pennay, historian at Charles Sturt University, as they try to establish legacy of the growth centre project.

They will make an appraisal of how the idea of an Albury-Wodonga has weathered the years and explain how it has been adapted to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
