Join the incomparable Dr Gertrude Glossip, PhD (Formal Drapery) from Curtain University, whose trademark motto is “decorate while you educate,” for a lively and insightful stroll through Adelaide’s queer history.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Decriminalisation of Homosexual Acts in South Australia (1975)—a landmark moment that made South Australia the first state in Australia to take this progressive step—Gertrude will guide you through significant sites and hidden corners of the city that played a role in this pivotal chapter of LGBTIQ+ rights.

Through her unmistakable flair and rainbow lens, Gertrude will bring to life the stories, people, and places that shaped this groundbreaking legislation. With 30 years of history walks under her fabulous belt and as the author of the 2021 tantalising tome “Queen of the Walk: Gertrude’s Guide to Gay Adelaide History,” there’s no better guide for this unforgettable journey back in time.

This special event is held in conjunction with the ASHM Conference.

Don’t miss this chance to walk through history, where the past meets pride in every step!

All proceeds from tickets go directly to supporting people living with HIV in South Australia.
