51st Annual AAC NAACP Freedom Fund Awards Banquet

The Anne Arundel County NAACP Branch 7008 will host its 51st Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Annapolis DoubleTree Hotel. The theme, “We, The People,” celebrates the NAACP’s longstanding commitment to civil rights, equality, justice, and community empowerment while supporting the Branch’s ongoing mission and programs.

Keynote Speaker

The Lieutenant Governor of Maryland Aruna K. Miller is a trailblazing public servant, civil engineer, and advocate for equity and opportunity. She made history as the first woman of color and first immigrant elected to statewide office in Maryland.

Before becoming Lieutenant Governor in 2023, she served for eight years in the Maryland House of Delegates and spent 25 years working in Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation. Her leadership and public service have focused on transportation safety, STEM education, mental health, and expanding opportunities for Maryland families and communities.

Her participation brings a significant statewide perspective to this year's banquet and reinforces the event's focus on leadership, civic engagement, equity, and advancing the cause of justice.
