Emerging Waves™

A 5Rhythms® class offered by Mick Englert, Teacher in Training.

Mentored by Ron Hagendoorn and Mirjam Van Hasselt.

In this Rhythm class, you are invited to move through the Rhythms with simple guidance, exploring body parts, and giving space for your personal expression.

Music becomes the teacher alongside the trainee, supporting your movement practice through the Waves map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness.

Rooted in the teachings of Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms" is practiced by tens of thousands of people around the world. It is a non-verbal movement meditation, a creative path, and a philosophy grounded in the belief that when we move, we heal. Movement becomes both medicine and metaphor, opening space for personal insight and embodied presence. This practice welcomes everybody, every culture, every age, and every level of experience.

Wherever the Rhythms are danced, a community forms, one that moves together, sweats together, grows together, and supports one another's freedom and authenticity.

Here we meet ourselves and each other with curiosity, kindness, and the courage to be real.

Doors open 6:45pm, class begins 7pm ends 8:30pm

Price is $25 - $20 [if money is an issue, please speak to me, we will find a way]

Please respect the non-verbal space, no mobiles, this is the time to listen to your body.

Dance preferably barefoot or with soft dance shoes; loose, comfortable, layered clothing is advised.

Bring your water, ear protection, and towel if required.

About Mick Englert

Mick Englert is a 5Rhythms® Teacher In Training based in the Perth region of Western Australia.

Discovering 5Rhythms felt like drawing back a thin dark veil onto a landscape he had always sensed existed, but had never clearly seen. While movement had always called to him, the culture surrounding him at the time focused largely on sport rather than expressive or embodied movement.

Through each 5Rhythms “Wave,” Mick continues to experience the unfolding liberation of the body, releasing limitations while revealing deeper gifts of acceptance, healing, creativity, and insight. The practice supports him in tuning into his fragility, care, and personal needs with compassion and forgiveness.

With English and Italian heritage, and Australia home for over 25 years, Mick feels deeply connected to the culture and energy of this land. Holding space for community through movement is something he considers a true honour, offering an environment where people can explore the inquiry of their movement while being supported by collective wisdom.

Integrity, compassion, and patience are core values that guide Mick’s teaching. He is committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where dancers can experience the presence of their being, reconnect with their bodies, and witness and support one another authentically.

For Mick, one of the greatest blessings of the 5Rhythms path has been becoming part of a dynamic global community of movers, while forming meaningful and lasting friendships along the way.
