The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at The University of Texas at Austin invites you to the 5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Summit: Freedom is Dignity.

This year’s summit calls us to reflect on the profound connection between liberation and the inherent worth of every individual. In a moment where dignity is both a personal right and a collective responsibility, we welcome leading thinkers and changemakers, Dr. Glen Singleton and Dr. Kazique Jelani Prince, to join Dr. Peniel Joseph for an open and courageous conversation.

Together, they will explore how honoring history, building community, and leading with purpose can guide us toward a more humane and truthful society. This gathering will include a moderated dialogue and an audience Q&A. Through story, scholarship, and vision, we celebrate Juneteenth not only as a milestone in time but as a continuing call to recognize the full humanity of ourselves and others.

About the Speakers:

Dr. Glenn E. Singleton

An internationally respected author and educator, Dr. Singleton is the founder of Pacific Educational Group and creator of Courageous Conversation™, a groundbreaking framework for leadership and communication. His work has shaped conversations and strategies in schools, government agencies, and global organizations, helping individuals and institutions engage in meaningful learning and action.

Dr. Kazique Jelani Prince

Dr. Prince is a strategist and advisor with deep experience in civic leadership, organizational development, and public policy. As the founder of Jelani Consulting, he partners with leaders and institutions to design innovative, people-centered solutions that strengthen communities and inspire long-term impact.

Dr. Peniel Joseph

Dr. Joseph is a scholar, author, and public voice on democracy, history, and justice. As the founding director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at UT Austin, he bridges academic insight with public impact, advancing dialogue that deepens understanding, inspires action, and honors the ongoing struggle for freedom.
