This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

This full day professional learning course is perfect for Science teachers with Year 7-10 classes and will suit new, retraining and also seasoned teachers. We will be covering a wide range of experiments for Chemical World in both Stages 4 and 5.

Throughout the day, Tiny Science Lab Chemistry Sets will be utilised. All the skills and experiences covered are directly transferable to regular sized Chemistry equipment as found in school Science laboratories. However, you will also get to experience the versatility and benefits of the Tiny Science Lab. One of the many features of Tiny Science Lab is that every experiment happens much faster and so we can get through many more activities in a given time. All consumables, equipment and full risk assessments provided. The Tiny Science Lab equipment is inherently far less hazardous and risky than traditional Science equipment. Due to its small size it is safer and faster to use, uses 90% less chemicals and facilitates a far better educational experience.

Participants will also receive a complementary small take-home Chemistry Set (similar to https://bit.ly/tinychemlab) worth about $50 along with some editable digital assessment tasks highlighting the equipment.

This workshop can contribute to 5 hours of ‘Elective PD’ addressing 2.1.1 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

A Certificate of Completion will be sent to Graduate Teachers for their evidence.

Please note: Lunch will be provided. Please complete dietary requirements question after purchase.
