7th Oceania Women’s Kendo Seminar and Taikai

The Australian Kendo Renmei Kendo Board and the Queensland Kendo Renmei are excited to bring you the 7th Oceania Women’s Kendo Seminar and Taikai !!!
Date: 14 June to 15 June 2025.
Location: Tallebudgera Sports Centre 1525 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach QLD 4221
Instructors: The seminar will be led by a number of AKR and NZKF’s inspiring senior sensei who have extensive experience in instruction and competition!
Chief Instructors: HyunHong Wright Sensei (Kyoshi 7 dan) VIC., Noriko Matsumoto Sensei (Renshi 6 dan) VIC., Akiyo Yamaguchi Ellin Sensei (Renshi 6 dan) NZ., Vivian Yung Sensei (6 dan) NSW.
Attending and supporting the event: Hiroko Tsukadaira Sensei (Renshi 7 dan) QLD. and Hayami Aboutaleb Sensei (Renshi 6 dan) SA.
Schedule:
- Seminar - Saturday (all day) & Sunday morning
- Taikai (Teams events) - Sunday afternoon
- Networking, discussion and Q&A- Saturday evening
- Friday evening keiko (6pm)
- Sat & Sun morning keiko 6am-7am
Seminar:
- Please bring bokuto (let us know if you don't have one - we will arrange one for you)
- Seminar content - TBC
Taikai (Competition):
- 3-person team events.
- Shinpan and kakari-in involvement
Accommodation:
- Onsite accommodation with catering (Fri – Sun) available. These are 6-person cabins with bunk beds, bathroom, toilet (linen/towels included).
- Arrange your own accommodation. Suggestions:
- Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park - 50m from venue
- Sea Mist Palms - 300m from venue
- Regancy on the Beach - 350m from venue
Cost:
- Accommodation-meal package - $150 (includes event registration, onsite accommodation and meals package). $100 for NZKF travelling from NZ.
- Registration only - $50 event registration only (arrange your own accommodation and lunch).
Eligibility:
AKR or FIK affiliate members (must be current). Seminar and Competition is open for ALL Women including cis and trans women and is non-binary friendly.
