Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused captures the fleeting intensity of youth with honesty and humour. Set on the last day of school in 1976, it follows teenagers navigating hazing, rebellion, and the promise of summer freedom.

The film introduced audiences to Matthew McConaughey, whose “Alright, alright, alright” remains iconic to this day. Its portrayal of 1970s culture marked by wild parties, casual drug use, and a sense of camaraderie is brought together with a soundtrack featuring the likes of Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Often considered one of the greatest coming-of-age films, it’s a reminder of the universal awkwardness and excitement of youth.
