| 200 artists, tiny artworks, big impact - now in it's 17th year! Celebrating its 17th year in 2025, 9 by 5 commemorates the original exhibition held in Melbourne in 1889. This featured artists Tom Roberts, Charles Conder, Arthur Streeton and Frederick McCubbin who produced uniform artwork on nine by five-inch cigar box lids. Arts in Greater Dandenong’s adaptation has now become a nationally recognised exhibition that celebrates diversity within the arts community, proving that small things can have a big impact. Artists at all stages of their career will showcase their inspiring creations with us, with prizes up for grabs. All works measure 9 x 5 inches (22.86cm x 12.7cm) and will be for sale. The following prizes will be awarded: Best in Show: artwork of high artistic merit as assessed by the judging panel. Community Connections: artwork reflecting the Greater Dandenong community. Highly Commended: notable mention of artwork of high artistic merit. People’s Choice: People's choice voting will be open for most of the exhibition and winner will be announced during the week of Monday 5 May – Friday 9 May 2025. |
