Our Conference Theme: *Storytelling and Told Stories*

Enhance children’s early literacy skills through the art of storytelling and told stories.

Stories tell us who we are and where we come from. They help children develop their sense of belonging to their family and their community.

Research shows that storytelling with babies and young children also promotes brain development, imagination, and language. Communication in all forms is enhanced.

So come along and hear the latest research about storytelling, learn storytelling knowledge and techniques from Aboriginal Elders and story tellers from other cultures. And take away some resources which you have created.

And then on Friday morning attend a post Conference Workshop - Parkes Annual Reading Day - and see how the whole town takes on their community responsibility of celebrating reading with children from birth, so that they'll be ready for learning to read and write at school.

Can't make it Parkes? We are also offering an online option for Day 2 - 7 September. We unfortunately can't offer online for Day 1 or Day 3, as we will be out and about in the community for those days.
