DCCI Annual Dinner
Event description
Dear Members and Guests
We are delighted to share the exciting news that Grant O’Brien will serve as the Guest Speaker at the upcoming Annual Dinner hosted by the Chamber. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 28th, starting at 7pm.
Mr. O’Brien's journey from stocking shelves at Woolworths to becoming a chief executive is nothing short of remarkable. His remarkable achievements have earned him the distinguished position of being named the inaugural Chair of the Tasmania AFL Club.
Having been a vital part of the AFL Tasmania journey for quite some time, initially as a member of the Tasmanian AFL Taskforce, Mr. O’Brien has now taken on the monumental responsibility of preparing Tasmania's AFL team for its entry into the national competition in 2028.
Grant O’Brien's deep connection to Tasmania is evident as he hails from the north west coast of the state and is a former footballer in Penguin's 1980 premiership team. In addition to his role with the Tasmania AFL Club, he also serves as the Chair of the Tourism Tasmania Board of Directors, the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority, the Australia Sports Foundation, and holds the position of Deputy Chair with the Stars Foundation.
We will also be presenting awards for - Business of the year, Business Achiever of the Year and the RJ Burgess Perpetual trophy.
Non Members are also very welcome to attend. To ensure you don't miss out on this informative event, we recommend booking your seats now as availability is limited.
Bookings close Monday 25 September. We look forward to seeing you there!
Kind Regards
James Foster
