Lecture Description

With an architectural career that spans three decades and projects spread across Australia, Jefa will reflect upon a compelling journey that anchors in a consistent intent to showcase the value of different perspectives in the practice of architecture.

Demonstrated through a vast academic career as well as a series of case study projects, which draw upon a diverse portfolio of projects - including the UTS National First Nations College, he will focus on the importance of civic shaping architecture that meets the needs of Community whilst interrogating the importance of design equity and the challenges of Country-centred design.

The presentation will further explore the importance of paying forward the cumulated knowledge that established practitioners hold and the capacity of architecture to engage with the critical questions and challenges of our times.

This event is part of UTS School of Architecture’s Solidarity public program and will be be jointly introduced by Dr Endriana Audisho (Public Programs Director) and Dr Campbell Drake (Senior Lecturer).
