Nature-based activity for children 8-11 connecting with nature, themselves, and others through mindful movement, grounding exercises, creativity & exploration through meaningful interactions with the living world.

Theoretical Foundations & Nature’s Therapeutic Effects

This nature-based activity is grounded in evidence-based theories and observations about nature’s impact on children's wellbeing. It is designed to:

  • Maintain and increase positive mood states

  • Support restoration of emotional equilibrium

  • Harness nature’s healing effects through multi-sensory and creativity

  • Promote calmness through mindful contact with natural environments

  • Foster present moment connection, emotional awareness, improve attention and cognitive flexibility with nature as an active participant

These principles are woven into each activity to support a holistic approach to child development and therapeutic care.
