A Blameless Life
Event description
A Blameless Life with Augusta Hopkins (Hybrid)
5 Thursdays, September 12 & 19, October 3, 10, & 17, 7–8:30 pm
What does it mean to live a blameless life? How do we do it?
We all want to be happy; we are just confused about how to get there. We mistakenly think beating ourselves up will make us better. Or that being perfect is the path forward. But it actually makes us, and our circumstances, worse. When we try to be perfect, we fall short and get caught in a perpetual cycle of dissatisfaction, aka Dukkha.
The Buddha taught: Dukkha is to be known. This understanding is a first step toward freedom.
As we become aware of and recognize our habits and conditioned patterns of mind without resisting them or dismissing them, but truly seeing them for what they are - getting closer to them without judgement - insights arise naturally and wisdom can DO THE MAGIC WORK of transforming long held patterns.
Join Augusta Hopkins to explore a modern twist on early teachings of the Buddha. Together, we will explore simple guidelines for living a contented life.
