Have you heard of the Buddha's path of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity? This path provides the philosophy and practices for finding freedom. It is a beautiful as well as challenging path to walk. But it is worth it.

Do you seek to find a deeper connection to others, and ultimately yourself, but have felt you’d like some guidance along the way? Perhaps you feel your heart is sometimes walled or you would like to live more open-heartedly.

Have you ever wondered about how to cultivate more compassion for others and yourself or indeed how to balance your innate compassionate disposition to one that doesn’t amplify your own suffering?

If any of these questions resonate, you'll enjoy learning about and practicing cultivating a boundless heart, with teachings based on the divine heart abodes from Buddhist philosophy.

You are invited to join me, Dr Melanie Pescud, for a 4-week course 'A Boundless Heart' run over July 2022.

Together we will cover:

Love/lovingkindness: connection, positive regard, and kindness towards others and ourselves
Compassion: the ability to live with open-hearted understanding of the suffering of others, the desire to end suffering for all beings
Sympathetic joy: the ability to find delight and upliftment through the successes and joys of others
Equanimity: the cultivating of the “I don’t mind” mind, the ability to practice acceptance and develop the strength to create change where possible with detachment
The heart abodes (kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity) as remedies to the suffering caused by aversion, grasping, and ignorance.
The interconnected nature of these four qualities of the heart.

Beginning Friday 8th July 2022 at 12noon AEST, each week for one hour the following structure will be followed:

Welcome to class and check in
Talk on one of the heart abodes each week
Guided meditation/contemplation
Q&A + discussion (please note you are not obligated to actively participate)

This course is focused on both theory and practice – but the emphasis is on practice, especially in your own time. If you cannot attend the live sessions, each will be recorded and everyone will receive a copy of the full class.
