A Closer Look at Slime Moulds
Creyk Park Pavilion
Kelmscott WA, Australia
Description
Slime Moulds (myxomycetes) are often thought of as fungi or animals, but they are neither. They are in fact a type of Amoebozoa that feed on Fungi and other decomposers. They are not well understood in science, but they are widespread.
One thing is very clear, looked at closely, Slime Moulds are extremely fascinating, with a myriad of colours, shapes and sizes.
At this event, Faye Acaro will share her beautiful photography and passion for these often overlooked organisms.
This event is organised by the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group as part of our Learning Landcare series of education events, thanks to funding from Lotterywest.
