A Conversation with Incorporated Societies

Re-registering under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022: What You Need to Know

Are you part of an incorporated society that hasn’t yet re-registered under the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022? The deadline of 5 April 2026 is now less than 7 months away.

If you’re unsure where to start, what’s required, or how the changes affect your society, this is your chance to get clear, practical guidance. Our experienced Impact Team has supported dozens of societies across New Zealand through the re-registration process – and we’re here to support you.

Join our Impact Team for this free, in-person event and hear from Partner, Steven Moe, as he covers:

  • Key changes under the new Act.

  • What updates are required to your rules/constitution.

  • Officer eligibility and responsibilities.

  • Whether it’s time to reconsider your legal structure.

You’ll have the chance to speak with our Impact Team, ask questions, connect with other societies, and get clear on the steps you need to take.

Re-registration isn’t automatic – and updating your constitution can take time, especially if member consultation is needed. Don’t leave it to the last minute.

Come along and make sure your society is ready before the April 2026 deadline.

When: Tuesday 2 September, 5.30pm
Where: Parry Field Lawyers, Level 1, 60 Cashel Street, Christchurch City Centre
