A Country Practice Christmas
Event description
Sunday Salon presents:Â
A Country Practice Christmas
A community hall buffet, wine party and art show to heighten all that is wonderful and woeful about Christmas. An event that holds Christmas nosh in its highest regard.Â
Providing the festive fare will be long time collaborators, art foodists and food artists Tully Moore (@a_country_practice) and @long_prawn.
In 2018, Artist @a_country_practise began creating paintings based upon shopping lists from the fruit and vegetable distributor he works at. The paintings reference the traditional trompe l’oeil still life paintings – an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions. Since then, many have commissioned the artist to create bespoke paintings based on their favourite things to eat: from the classic carbonara to steak tartare and martinis.Â
This new series of works immortalises an unabashedly Australian Christmas spread, which has informed the menu and proceedings by Long Prawn.Â
You are invited to use this as your Xmas party, among these new works, delicious Australian fair dinkum (natural) wines, a Christmas buffet and good company.Â
$55 for your Christmas lunch! The ticket includes a drink upon arrival.Â
Following the event, the artworks will go online at sundaysalon.com.au
Please note you will need to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination to attend this event. Due to the limited kitchen facilities of this event, we are unable to facilitate any menu changes.
This event is wheelchair accessible. If you have any other questions about accessibility please feel free to reach out.Â
