Event description

As our regional and online Strategic Workforce Planning workshops and focus groups continue we invite you to register for the Courageous, Connected and Capable Workforce Symposium. This is the time to bring our planning together — and celebrate.

We will present the high-level strategic workforce plan informed by what we heard across the state through workshops, focus groups, consultations and our workforce survey.

Thank everyone who has contributed to shaping the future of our sector’s workforce. Your insights, ideas, and shared vision are helping us create a Strategic Workforce Plan that reflects the strength, resilience, and aspirations of the people who show up every day in this vital work.

Some of our workforce challenges are ‘wicked’ problems that call for deeper exploration. At the symposium we will hear from local and international speakers who will share their insights on these issues.  Together, we will dive into conversation to better understand the issues and develop workforce solutions and actions to meet these challenges.

This is not just a planning session. It’s a celebration of who we are as a sector — courageous, connected, and capable — and another step forward toward the thriving and sustainable workforce we want to be.

At the symposium, we will:

  • Reflect on key insights from the 2025 Workforce Survey.

  • Discover what we’ve heard from colleagues across Queensland through workshops, focus groups, and consultations.

  • Share the overarching Strategic Workforce Plan co-created with the sector.

  • Hear from thought-provoking speakers and engage in conversations focussed on the themes identified as most important to you.

  • Celebrate the incredible contributions of our sector’s people and organisations.

The Strategic Workforce Plan we are creating together will help us:

  • Attract, retain and support value-aligned people.

  • Design career and development pathways that promote wellbeing and growth.

  • Build collective capacity and capability to lead change.

  • Support the workforce to deliver meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve.

This symposium is a chance to pause, connect, and recognise the dedication and vision that exists across the domestic and family violence, sexual violence, and women’s health and wellbeing sector.

Let’s come together to celebrate our journey — and co-create what’s next.

Keep an eye on our socials as we reveal inspiring symposium speakers over the coming months!

Who should attend

Everyone in the domestic and family violence, sexual violence, and women’s health and wellbeing sector is welcome and encouraged to join us to contribute to the development of impactful workforce strategies for the sector.

Every voice matters. Every story contributes. Every conversation moves us forward.
