Together we can achieve amazing things.
The very capable Ninja will be holding space for the majority of the day, and I'm very grateful to have her support at short notice. Thanks Ninja!

From Ninja:
Saturday :
It's all about movement, awareness and connection.
Everything is possible

During the day we will explore various disciplines, from acroyoga, and breath work, to contact improv, and massage.
Don't forget your water bottle, a pen, paper/ notebook and maybe a little towel.

From Eamonn:
Linked,
communicating, growing and inspiring each other with our dance and
our practice, we can be part of something powerful and deeply
restorative.
My intent for this
event is to support far-flung CI dancers in their practice; from
those curious about the form they’re yet to try through to those
with lots of experience. I’ll teach those that need teaching and
we’ll all share our skills and make connections.
More than anything
this form takes time to learn, so I hope you’ll avail yourself of
the opportunity to do it with a sizeable group over a longer
timeframe.
More details to
come.
This is being run through the not-for-profit
‘Contact Culture’ with all excess proceeds being reinvested into
spreading the form.

Price:

An ethos of not letting a lack of money lead to a lack of dancing is important to me, so if a financial barrier would cause you to otherwise miss out please get in touch.

About the Form
Contact Improv (CI)
is a study in relationship to others, and the dance is a chance to
hone that with skill, movement and touch.
With no set steps and no set leader, participants have the challenge and opportunity of practicing the widest possible range of dance moves, and to develop skills around presence, leading, following and flexibility.

About the facilitators:
Ninja
Ninja,
a versatile artist and educator, began her journey in theater and dance
at 12. At 17, she mentored teen groups, expanding into theatre at 21.
In 2013, intensive physical theatre training in France transformed her
perspective, leading to global "movement theatre" workshops. Her quest
for knowledge included Yoga, Acroyoga, and Osteo Thai massage across
Europe.
In Sydney, she explored improv theater and contact
improvisation. Today, Ninja passionately teaches movement theatre and
offers Osteo Thai Massage, nurturing artistic growth and holistic
well-being.
Eamonn O'Flaherty
I have been dancing CI for thirteen years, teaching for eleven. I think it an
incredibly helpful and healthful form, and I am passionate and
committed to its spread.
